Depression is crippling. There is no doubt that it is real. It is a dis-ease of the mind. Even though depression is real and unpredictable, it is still important to recognize that it is surmountable. You can take control of your mind by feeding it with positive mantras, nutrients from health foods and serotonin from exercise. 
If you are experiencing a deep sadness and you feel there is no light at the end of the tunnel, then do three things for yourself right now, or as soon as you can. 

1. Tell yourself that you were born for a special reason; repeat this three times.
You were hand picked to be here right now at this time and place. Even though you may not be aware of the reason at this moment, still believe with all your might that the reason will be revealed to you in it's right timing. Not your expected timing, but your destiny timing; Divine timing. 

2. Eat something healthy. No meat. GENESIS 1:29
And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. tYou shall have them for food. 30 And uto every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

3. Exercise; even just 1000 more steps a day will enhance your serotonin level
Serotonin is a chemical created by the human body that works as a neurotransmitter. It is regarded by some researchers as a chemical that is responsible for maintaining mood balance, and that a deficit of serotonin leads to depression.

Do yourself a favour and love yourself. Nobody can love your for you. As much as you are cherished from God, in order to feel the impact of that love, you must first love you.
