I THOUGHT WE HAD A CONNECTION

I THOUGHT WE HAD A CONNECTION?!

What happens when you meet someone, you make a connection but then the connection sizzles out as fast as it sparked? Well you carry on. It can be baffling at times, even for a Soul Coach like me, why these connections do not create long lasting love commitments, but it happens, and when it does you just have to believe it is for the best. You may not believe it now, especially if you made a connection recently that broke and now you feel broke, but in time you will see that it was for the best.

Of course it doesn't feel good when a connection is made and then breaks, but believe it or not this common phenomenon, although baffling, can be easily explained, and most times it has to do directly with the two people involved. Sometimes a love connection is made, but due to the two individual’s personalities it is quite possible that the connection will not be solidified.

For example, one person may be too shy to reach out and instead may expect the other to do all the communicating. The other person may not be shy, but they want the same type of respect and would appreciate a reciprocation of communication. They too may desire an unexpected ‘good morning’ text, or even a middle of the day phone call. However, because their potential mate has hang-ups they will not receive what they want, and in most cases it results in lost communication and a broken connection.

How can you prevent this and keep the connection burning? Easy! Swallow your pride, stop listening to your self-negative talk, and stop expecting others to bow down to you. Now when you contact this person and you find that you are doing most of the communicating and they appear as if they have no time for you, then it’s obvious that the connection is not what you thought it was and it’s probably best to disconnect.

Similarly, if they do respond, but not the way you were hoping, then hold on for a little while, don’t lose faith and give it a few days, or a week, because they may need some time warming up to you. If after your second or third date they do not show deeper signs of a connection then it’s clear that it's best to cut your losses. No connection is worth your dignity.
