Tomorrow begins a new week for the rest of the year. Kids buckle down and get your heads into school. It is the best way to discipline your mind and set a good path for your future.
Parents, remember to help your kids remain disciplined by encouraging them with love and patience. Do not pressure them too much.  The key is not high grades and perfect attendance. Of course it's important to pass class and attend school, but that is a given. What is just as important is for your child to apply their effort to diligent studying. If they are receiving C's as opposed to A's let them know they are are still special, and just as special as the child receiving A's. The key is for them to enjoy learning and eventually their C's will become A's.

Both of my children graduated from high school with honours. It's not because I pressured them to get A's. I certainly was not an A student, I was a B at best. As a matter of fact in grade 12 I dropped out of high school when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter Nolisha. After she was born I put myself right back into school. It may sound easier said than done, but it became better done than said. A year later I graduated as the student council president with honours.

While raising my children I did my best to lead  by example. I studied and I learned. I showed them that by doing my best was really the best thing to do. Without comparing myself to others and without doubting my abilities, I went on to college and university. I wanted to show them that what you put your mind to you will achieve. Although school may be over for me, I'm happy to say that the learning never stops. My children and I relish in that fact. Learning is a thirst I won't ever quench.

Kids and parents, never mind stressing about the future. Just focus on now, while working towards tomorrow, and do your best to be your best. In the future when you look back on now you will be thankful you gave it all you got.

Also, parents share at least an hour a day with your children. Make it simple. Read a fashion magazine together, watch a documentary, or simply chit chat. By sharing time with them you will make them feel loved. Love alone will inspire them to do well in school.

Remember God in all your works. While you go through it all God will be your strength.
